Kadonowaki Nursery School was a heartwarming nursery school where everyone played together and flowers bloomed in each season. The lively voices of children aged 0 to 5 echoed.
That day on March 11, 2011 The shaking and the loud siren that we have never experienced. Take children to a safe place as soon as possible. It didn’t take long to decide to evacuate to the Ishinomaki nursery school, which is 1.8 km away on the mountain.
The children departed at 15:15 0-year-old went for a piggyback ride, 1- and 2-year-olds ride in evacuation vehicles, and 3-year-olds had to run. Thanks to the monthly evacuation drills, the children acted quickly, run up the slope, and arrived at the Ishinomaki nursery school at around 15:50.
There used to be a Kadonowaki nursery school here, and in order to convey the scary evacuation experience of children and staff and the damage caused by the tsunami that struck this area. The small light blue pool and the foundation of the nursery school have preserved after the earthquake.
