Ishinomaki City Earthquake Remains Kadonowaki Elementary School
In addition to the traces of tsunami damage, this facility is the only place with traces of tsunami fires that occurred in many affected areas in the Tohoku region.

Mt. Hiyori Park
It is a park in a hilly area with a panoramic view of Ishinomaki city. Many citizens evacuated to this park during the Great East Japan Earthquake.

MEET Kadonowaki
The focal point of conveying earthquake experience and communication operated by NPO 3.11 Future Support. We are showing an evacuation lesson created based on interviews with more than 100 people in a video theater.

Ishinomaki Genki Ichiba
We have a wide range of seasonal fresh fish, processed marine products, agricultural products, local products, and special products from the Sanriku area and the earthquake rehabilitation area. It is a big market where you can fully enjoy the Ishinomaki and Sanriku brand.

Ishinomori Manga Museum
A manga museum where you can experience the world of Shotaro Ishinomori, a cartoonist. It is a museum full of highlights, for example, permanent exhibits of some famous cartoon characters such as Kamen Rider, and a library corner that always stores 6,000 books.

Tashiro Island
Tashiro Island, which has more cats than the inhabitants of the island. It even has a “cat shrine” that enshrines cats, is famous as the “cat island” in the Tohoku region. In addition to friendly cats, there is also “Manga Island” where you can enjoy camping. There are two ferry terminals to Tashiro Island, and one is near ISHINOMAKI MINAMIHAMA TSUNAMI MEMORIAL PARK and the other is close to Ishinomaki Genki Ichiba.

Every facility introduces the enormous damage caused by the earthquake and various lessons to visitors. Please come and visit our facilities.
Miyagi Tsunami Memorial Museum introduces the remains and lore facilities of the earthquake disaster in various places.
Ishinomaki City has many sightseeing spots such as “Whale Town Oshika”, “Ogatsu・ Tanakoya”, and “Kinkasan”.
