The memorial square
A place where many people gather to commemorate those who died in the earthquake. It is a circular square where you can pray in all directions.

A place of prayer
This place represents the memories of the city such as “Zenkaidaike” and “Nakamachidori”, which symbolize the history of the land, and the “Prayer Park” as a place with honor and remembrance.

Miyagi Tsunami Memorial Museum: Preserving the Past and Protecting Lives by Passing down the Lessons of Disaster
Inside the museum, you can see an exhibition of earthquake disasters using panels and videos based on the concept of “a place to deliver memories to the future in order to protect one’s precious life.”

1-chome hill
It is an artificial hill that surrounds the memorial square. If you stand on a hill, you can overlook the entire park and the sea.

The base of citizens’ activities
Up until now, memorial events and forest-making activities are being carried out, for instance, making the “Hang in there!Ishinomaki” signboard and constructing the “Minamihama Tsunagukan” on the scheduled park site. We are promoting participation and collaboration so that various actors can work on management and operation more stably.

The forest to wish for the peace
This is the area where the donated monuments related to memorial and memorial services are placed.

The first signboard of ”Hang in there!Ishinomaki”
The first signboard of “Hang in there! Ishinomaki” was created to encourage the local people and has been relocated to a civic activity base. The foundation of the dwelling of shops and the paint of the word “we will recover!” on a road remain after the earthquake.

The former Kadonowaki nursery school
It is the site of the Kadonowaki nursery school where the building disappeared due to the tsunami. There is the foundation of the building and the site of the infant pool.

Senkutsu Shicchi(Wetlands )
The area was scoured due to the tsunami attacking the concrete buildings, and consequently, the ground was badly drained. It is preserved as the remains of the earthquake that shows the threat of the tsunami.

Ishinomaki Memorial Cenotaph
It is a memorial cenotaph engraved with the names of the citizens of Ishinomaki and the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake in Ishinomaki City.

Kitakami Square
It is a public square that serves as an entrance for those who come on foot from the Kitakami exit.

Kadonowaki Square
It is a public square that serves as the entrance to the park from the Kadonowaki parking. There are the remains of Kadonowaki nursery school, which is a relic of the disaster.

4-chome North Square
As the broad grass square, it can be used for various purposes such as sports, recreational activities, and a place relaxation for the family members.

As a clay paved square, it is a space that can be used for sports such as ball games and recreational activities.

Hibarino Square
Playground equipment for children and healthy equipment are installed, and it is a place that can be used by each generation for various purposes.

Housing complex Square
As the asphalt-paved square, it can be used for various purposes as a temporary parking lot, etc., for events.

It is the asphalt-paved square that will be used at the time of the event.

Zenkaidaike (Pond, Former Wetlands)
Wetlands were widespread in this area until urbanization progressed during the period of high economic growth, but due to the land subsidence caused by the earthquake, it became wetlands before urbanization. Zenkaidaike is a space that conveys the history of the land and reminds us of the former wetlands.

Islands in a pond
There are three islands in Zenkaidaike. The shape of the three islands recalls intersections of the former street, in order to preserve the memory of the city when maintaining the Zenkaidaike. At the back of an island in front of the place of prayer, there was Minamihamacho Higashi Park, which was used for local Bon Odori Dances.

Shoninbori (Canal)
The existence of Shoninbori has been confirmed since the Edo period, and it has been a waterway that has supported the activities of people in this area since ancient times. In 2000, it became a greenway with a lid on the waterway and was used for people and bicycles to come and go. As a facility to convey the memory of the old town when developing the park, the appearance of the waterway before the lid is left.
