About
Shoninbori (Canal)

Canal

Shoninbori (Canal) has long been a waterway that has supported the activities of people in this area, as its existence can be confirmed in the “Ishinomaki Ezu” in the late Edo period. It used to be a moat without a cover, but in 2000 it became a green road with a cover on the waterway and was used for people and bicycles to come and go.
The current Shoninbori (Canal) is a facility that conveys the memory of the former city and intended to preserve the state of the waterway before the cover is closed.
