What are the park opening hours?

From April to September: 9:00–18:00
From October to March: 9:00–17:00
The parking lot is open during the same hours, so it cannot be used after the park closes.

When is the park closed?

The park is open year-round with no holidays.
The Miyagi 3.11 Tsunami Disaster Memorial Museum is closed on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) and during the New Year holidays (12/29–1/4).
However, it is open on the 11th of every month regardless of the day of the week or holidays.

Is there an admission fee or parking fee?

Both are free of charge.
Admission to the Miyagi 3.11 Tsunami Disaster Memorial Museum is also free.

What items are prohibited from being brought into the park?

Can I collect plants or animals in the park?

Collecting plants or animals within the park is prohibited.

Can I bring my pet into the park?

Yes, but please keep your pet on a leash or in a carrier.
However, pets are not allowed in the Place of Prayer, the Memorial Plaza, or inside the Miyagi 3.11 Tsunami Disaster Memorial Museum (guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs are permitted).
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Is smoking allowed in the park?

Smoking is prohibited except in the designated smoking area located at the Monowaki Parking Lot.

Can I borrow a wheelchair?

Wheelchairs are available for loan at the Miyagi 3.11 Tsunami Disaster Memorial Museum.

Are there accessible restrooms?

Multipurpose restrooms are located at the Miyagi 3.11 Tsunami Disaster Memorial Museum, Monowaki Parking Lot, Shōninhori Parking Lot, Hibari-no Parking Lot, 4-chome North Plaza, and 1-chome Plaza.

How many vehicles can the parking lots accommodate?

Permission is required for events or for photography conducted for commercial purposes.

There is playground equipment at the Hibari-no Plaza.

Are there any areas where fire can be used?

No, fire use is not permitted anywhere in the park.

Is fishing allowed?

No, fishing is not allowed.

Do you offer guided tours in the park?

The park management does not provide guided tours, but there are local volunteer groups that conduct storytelling activities in the park.

Can I bring my own lunch into the park?

Yes, you may bring your own lunch. You may also spread out a picnic sheet on the lawn.
However, eating and drinking are not allowed in the Place of Prayer, the Memorial Plaza, or inside the Miyagi 3.11 Tsunami Disaster Memorial Museum.

Is there a place to eat lunch on rainy days?

There are large gazebos at the 4-chome North Plaza and the Hibari-no Plaza, but space is limited, so please share the area with others.

Are there any restaurants or cafés?

There is the “Kokoro no Mori Café” located at the Civic Activity Center.

How can I access the park by public transportation?

The Miyakō Bus service is available.
